“ Visited here whilst attending #truckfest. Lovely old pub, good selection of ales and cider, inc my favourite Aspalls, and they had a BBQ when we were here. We had a very nice pulled pork burger and chips. Decent prices, free WiFi, clean toilets and a very friendly lady behind the bar. Highly recommended. ”

“ We rang manager Kayley at short notice to accommodate us for two nights with our dogs. Kayley was amazing and more than happy to help us. She is truly a credit to this hotel continuously making sure we were ok and had everything we needed when she saw us. Food was so delicious and the chef is obviously very talented and it is reasonably priced for a high standard of food. The locals were so welcoming when we first arrived and made a big fuss of our dogs .i would highly recommend this Venu for a stay over or food and hope to return when we are next this way ”
“ They’ve had new owners since March 2025 - and WOW! We went for lunch yesterday (10/08/2025) and the food was exceptional! The roast potatoes were to die for! The chef is so good we are definitely heading back again soon! We were served for the first half of the day by Anne-Louise who was EXCEPTIONAL! She’s an absolute asset to the business. So kind, polite, attentive, and nothing was too big of an ask. You need to retain her at all costs! Later in the evening Ben took over and I’ve never seen such a happy employee. His happiness was infectious! Also exceptional. I only wished we lived closer! Beautiful pub and the staff are amazing! ”
